A Day Late Winter Solstice wishes!
Just wanted to wish everyone a happy winter season! I hope it’s absolutely awesome for you and also, I hope you make good choices, too. And by good choices, I’m meaning things like… self-care (not the bubble bath kind)…
Good choices you can make this season:
Boundaries: your peace matters so much! It matters more than letting someone use that peace for their own benefit / cause you distress. You matter, your boundaries matter. “No” is a complete sentence.
On the flip side of that.. there are somethings that you’re focusing on and expending your precious energy on that are literally not worth it. Stop. Let it go. Focusing on things that only make you feel worse, raise your anxiety / definitely don't increase your peace are not worth it!
Empty all of the ***** (rhymes with ducks) out of your pockets. You don't need them anyway 🤣. *Noting that this doesn’t mean be an a$$, just don't care about the things that don't actually matter (like someone honking at you in traffic and little things like that.. again.. focusing on that is just going to bother you - and you only - STOP.IT.)
Drink WATER: just because it’s cold, doesn’t mean your body magically stops needing to be hydrated. And by drink water, I’m referring to an appropriate amount for YOU - your body.. not the standard 8 glasses thing. You’re too unique for that.
Put down the new years resolution planner. It’s not time yet. We’re in the season of resting, not starting all these new rigid add-ons. Just wait a little more. If your brain is set on making a list; fine, make it, but don’t put a time stamp on it.
Breathe! Outside air, lol. (Unless your have a medical condition that your Dr says absolutely not). Not able to go hike the local park (Knob Noster State Park is pretty cool, and has lots of varied ability options - just saying)? No worries! We’ve survived so long on this planet because humans are adaptable. Open a window or go sit on your front/back porch for a few.
So stay safe & warm this season, enjoy the little things, hug the people you love.
Okay, love ya! (The caring friend way, not the romanticle way)
